There is a small cross-over between packages, but they are really very different products. As I don't know what sort of music you want to write, I can't advise you I'm afraid.

Thanx DG i am doing a romantc and classic music which needs the APPASSIONATA STRINGS i am little confuced because if i buy the SE extended library i will get APPASSIONATA STRINGS with more other stuff such flute2 and Viennese oboe Etc..but with Appassionnata Strings package there r no more stuff..I hope u get my point [:)]

if you really want the apassionata strings the apassionata stings package is better. In Vi SE you have only 2 articulations and there is no legato within!

If you need other instruments than Strings, then you need to get SE.

What I would advise you to do is buy SE, try out the Extended for the demo period, and if there are enough articulations, then pay for it. If not, then get APP. STGS.

Yes, you get 30 days (I think) or 180 "goes" at it before you get locked out. At that time you can then purchase it if you wish. I also have the feeling that you can purchase the Extended by instrument, rather than by Collection, but you would need to check this with VSL.
