So today I was playing a short note trumpet sound (it's a poly sound, loaded into a VI Standalone). When I play it from my keyboard, I can play three-note chords no problem. However, when I record two- or three-note chords (in Digital Performer 5.11) and play back the track, I get no sound. The data is there, but the VI is silent. When I erase notes so that only one note is playing at a time, it works fine.
On a hunch, I randomized the attacks of the chords - each note played momentarily until another note attacked; the later note cut off the earlier.
So I thought... is there some global mono/poly setting on the VI that I don't know about it?
Then I thought... if there were, why would I be able to play three-note chords live?
Unfortunately I didn't note which patch is involved, and won't be back in my studio until Monday. Just thought that maybe someone here had encountered something like this and could shed some light.
Thanks,
PL
