    I know this may sound like a dumb question but does the Vienna Key need to remain inserted in a USB port at all times to use the instrument? I have read contradicting statements about this issue.

    tim, according to the syncrosoft installer the USB protection devices actually _should_ be connected all the time during installing - this is the paragraph we are referring too, because at this step of the install procedure formerly the message said to _remove_ the devices (this has changed somewhen around LCC 4.6.x or so).

    If the question is referring to the ViennaKey: yes, it is needed. an instrument would not load without key.
