  • Moving a Vienna Key to another computer

Related to a thread by ghuinink, I have a question. I've just installed, registered and what have you Appassionata Strings on my main Mac, a Quad Intel with 4 GB of RAM. I beginning to think it might be preferable to have the library on my other G5 Quad, which has 8 GB of RAM,then run it on Kore, etc. If I install the samples on the secondary Mac, can I simply remove the key from the main computer, plug it into the other one and expect the library to run successfully?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'n not been on the forum for a while and am up against it presently. Thanks for any info....

IMO this is the major advantage of having the licenses on a key: attach the key to another computer (eg. your laptop) and continue.

of course on the second computer you need LCC, VI software and the sample data (please see also the directory manager video for details)

you can also move any license between keys using the LCC's transfer assitant

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks, Christian: sounds promising, but I don't know what LCC stands for. Yeah, I konw, I'm out of touch... [:O]ops:

  • License Control Center
It's the Syncrosoft application which manages the licenses on your dongle.

  • Thanks, Herb. Yes, i have that, so this sounds a doddle, then: really elegant. Think I'll be doing that.
