sorry, im a bit unsure of this aswell. What if he bought another set of samples? Say for instance he bought Elements and this came with another licence, could that mean that he could load the appasionata samples onto his 2nd computer using this new licence and therefore being able to use appasionata across 2 pc's ?

The licence resides on the dongle. Therefore if the Elements licence was on a different dongle then he could run that on another computer. However, the Appassionata licence would still be on the original dongle, so that wouldn't help.

You can install the samples on as many computers as you like. They just won't work without a Syncrosoft dongle containing the correct licence.

Semi-related question. What about transfering the license from one computer to another, is that possible? I mean if I relinquished the use of a VI on one computer and installed it on another computer. Or if I bought SE to test out the quality, and decided I wanted to upgrade to the actual Cube, could I sell the SE to someone else and transfer the license?

Theoretically you can, but you would need to check with VSL for details.

I'm loading 2.8 gigs on a single PC of both Appassionata and Orch Strings I+II which is giving me almost all the articulations I need.

Are you using the 3gb switch? It allows you to acces almost 3 gigs of ram on a PC with 4 gigs of ram.

I believe that the license agreement specifically excludes any form of license transfer -- either by selling the license to someone else or by giving it to someone else. It is my understanding the license belongs only to the person who originally registered and licensed the product and, according to the terms of the agreement, can only be used by that person - - e.g. you can't rent your studio to someone else and allow them to use VI libraries licensed to you. Recently there was a long thread on this subject entitled "What is everyone doing with their obsolete VSL libraries?" Currently it is on page 2 of the Vienna Instruments Forum.

DG is right, although VSL approves license transfers under certain conditions, you should contact us _before_ you are procedding something in this direction.

I use the 3GB switch, but with the levelII presets memory gets depleted rapidly, although it runs on a dual proc Xeon with 10.000 rpm HD and 4GB, I still get hickups and memory errors.

When I remove some from memory everything runs smooth..... so I need to spilt somehow.

I get clicks and sputtering too so my plan is to use the ram optimization when all the parts are in. That will bring the ram load way down and as you say, things run smooth without a huge ram load.
