    Universal Mode? According to the video tutorial, Universal Mode automatically detects the articulation you are likely needing, but I thought that's what the Performance Tool does?

    You are mixing up two totally different formats.

    1) The Performance Tool is used with the older products such as Horizon or Pro Edition. These all need to be loaded into a sampler such as Gigastudio or Kontakt. The Vienna Instruments have their own player that does not need a Performance Tool.

    2) Universal Mode doesn't detect anything. You still have to tell it what articulation you need by using a controller of some sort. the exception to this is when using the Speed option. This will detect how fast you play and use the appropriate legato patch.
