  • Logic 7 and problem with Special Edition as a plug in

    Hi there!

    Since my first VSL library (the HORIZON chamber strings) i am really hooked on these great samples. They accomplish many music production! Since a while i got the SPECIAL EDITION and that gives some problems;
    I run Logic 7 now (before i used Logic 6.3 with EXS) and i canot use the SE as a plug-in unfortuately. I have a G5 Mac dual with enough RAM
    What could be the problem. As a stand alone it;s ok, but after playing and listening to those beautiful sounds, i am getting more eager in recording something!

    Hope for some help during these free easter days [H]

  • Hey Wendy. It would seem you need to get Logic to rescan the AU folder. I'm sure one of the VSL tech guys or gals will be onto you before long but you can always go into the Logic preferences and select "Start Logic AU Manager", tab within logic. And get the system to rescan for new AU's.

    Hopefully this will sort it out but if not I'm pretty sure that the VSL guys will figure it out. If it works as a standalone then it will work within logic .. eventually [:D]

  • Hi Wendy,

    I´d try hetoreyn´s suggestion, that should solve the problem!

    Best,

  • Wendy:

    If Heoreyn's suggestion does not work, I'd suggest repairing permissions and using Apple's Disk Utility (running Disk Utility from the Installation CD) to find and correct any disk problems.If that does not work, I suggest acquiring Alsoft's DiskWarrior disk utility and rebulding the directory of the startup disk with it (starting from the DiskWarrior CD). There have been quite a number of occasions that following this procedure fixed probems that other software could not find or fix. I had precisely this problem with Altiverb 6 and also a similar problem with Izotope's Ozone. Rebuilding the directory with DiskWarrior, immediately fixed these problems. If you have or acquire DiskWarrior, I'd also suggest running it once a month as a preventative measure.

    I hope this is helpful

  • Well guys, thanks for great help. All in need now is some time [[;)]] to explore more.
