  • how to change repetition tempo in performance mode?

hi Herb, can you tell me how to adjust the performance tempo to fit me sequencer? or Do i really have to stick with the default tempo of the patch?

    thanks

    Clem

  • Hello Clem,

all Performance Repetitions are "interactive" if you use them with the repetition tool.

The labeled tempo in the instrument name tells you the slowest performance you could play. But you can speed the repetitions up, some of them to the double tempo and more.

The secret is, you have to play each repetition note on your keyboard, so don't hold the key. If you hear the next repetition without hitting the keyboard you are simply performing to slow.

The repetition tool steps automatically to the next original played repetition in the sample, so your playing is a kind of real time wave editing.

In the top announcement topic of this forum:

    ": VSL Midi Examples Vol-1 & mp3 renderings!"

you will find some midi examples and mp3s which show you how to use the repetition performances.

Generally all gigfiles which include "PERF-REP" have to be used with the repetition tool. All "FAST REPETITIONS" and "UPBEAT" gigfiles are not interactive. Therfore you get different BPM variations.

There are also a lot of similiar topics here in this forum.
Maybe Chris can post some links.

We have also scheduled our videotutorial production in the second week of August. We'll focus there on some advanced techniques, the workflow with the performance repetitions will be of course a major part in this tutorial.

    best wishes
    Herb
