    luckily they decided to name it WBAG (Wiener Börse AktienGesellschaft) [;)] what is of course a very clear naming opposed to say VIX, which is another institution [:P]

    Herb, you asked to be reminded on Monday regarding the following Special Edition issues:


    1.Hello all

    Please load VSE Orchestral Strings Violas perf-leg patch.

    Play legato from D4 to C4, D4 to E4, D4 to F4. (Middle C = C3).

    The D4 keeps ringing after the new notes are triggered. I think the release time of the D4 transition sample is too long.

    It was enough to make the Producer sit up and go "what's that wrong note?"

    Had to use the Chamber Violas instead.

    I could fix this easily with my Opus lib in Halion - but how to fix in VSE?

    My only complaint with an otherwise superb product.

    2. Bb Clarinet Legato-sus patch. Second velocity layer is "clamping down". First layer is OK.

    Hi Mike,

    I've just checked it. All samples have the correct Release value.
    What you hear are resonances caused by the musicians itself. The ringing is part of the intervall samples an not the release of the previous sample.

    You can proove it (velocity crossfade has to be set OFF), if you perform the D with velocity 1 (piano sample is triggered) and than C or E with velocity 127 (forte sample is triggered) you will hear only the new sample, and everything you hear is part of this new sample, no Release sounding.

    What you hear, is the open D string with some overtones which is forced by performing the D on the higher A string, and the D string keeps ringing for some time. So I think it's an authentic and natural effect.

    1.Violas: So this would happen in real life - I understand now (sorry - I'm not a string player [:O]ops: ). Strange that the Solo & Chamber Viola patches do not do this, though.

    2.Did you check the Bb Clarinet legato-perf sus patch?

    Second velocity layer (forte) is doing a strange "pumping" effect. Was this intentional?
