  • Vienna Instrument cant see Library

How can i make the Vienna Instrument recognise the already installed Vienna Library after a reformat?

    ----------------------story so far--------------

    I've just re-formatted/re-installed my C Drive.
My VSL Library (40GB) is on my F drive, so it's not effected by the reformat/re-install.

I've downloaded Vienna Instrument 1.11 and have installed on C Drive.

On opening "VI Standalone Player", the right had column is empty ("empty matrix") and there nothing in it. I was expecting it might say "Locate Library".

So on opening "Library Installer" program, i've started to reinstall my whole 40GB library again! As there isnt an option to point the Vienna Instrument to locate library.

Is there a way round this next time, so i dont have to keep reinstalling the whole library every time i want to clean my computer?

    Many thanks for your help!

    James

  • Use Directory Manager to "find" it.

  • Sorry, I should have also added to my note above:

i also went into "Directory Manager"
"Opened Folder" - selected "F\\VSL Woodwind"
    Pressed Closed

Still when i re-opened Vennia Instrument, couldnt see the library. There was nothing there.

Am i missing something obvious with this Directory Manager program?

    Hi James,

please have a look at the Video Tutorial "How to use the Directory Manager".

You´ll find a lot of useful information there [:)]

  • thanks, just watched this video.

the 2 things that i didnt do that the video suggests were to shut down all music programs including the standalone.
& after having used the Directory Manager restart the computer. Shame i didnt do that!! ha ha

I ended up re-installing the library, but hey, it works!!

cheers, i'll know for next time!, j
