  • VI Special Edition questions

I heard a great demo using this library on Northern Sound Source and my local music store is going to be carrying this item (I have some un-used store credit there that is itching to be spent). I was wondering how the quality of these samples compare to the VSL bundled sounds I have with Kontakt 2. I use the legato solo flute and French Horns from that library all of the time and I'm looking to add more performance legatos. The standard set looks to have a lot of variety but before I go ahead and order it, I was hoping you fine folks could perhaps give me some more perspective on this library.

    Thanks kindly.

  • I find it really good,
You get all the common articulations for strings, in solo, chamber, orchestral there's even a couple of appassionata strings, but not as many as on the others.
You have a nice sounding piano, organ. Harp. I has decent brass. I'm pretty happy with it. And it is certainly worth the money.
I'm on the extended version, so i'm not sure what you get only in the standerd library.

  • Special Edtion offers for all wind and string instrument (except appassionatas) performance legato patches. (for strings also portamento)

  • Has the Vienna Special Edition Universal Mode?

  • The Universal Mode is a Matrix which combines interval legato, interval marcato, and interval spiccato (for strings).
The Special Edition offers only interval legato, therefore an Universal Mode Matrix is not possible.
