    I can find no solution to creating a solo cello legato setup. I am orchestrating a piece with extended moving cello arpeggios, mostly eighth notes at 50 bpm.

    I am using the 01 VC–perf-legato sample.

    What I get is a line filled with hot notes, suddenlunges, and notes that are practically inaudible. My soundfiles look like photograph of the Tetons.

    I have tried numerous settings with velocity x-fade, atk and rel to no avail.

    The end result is unusable and uneditable.

    Does anyone have a solution for creating a smooth legato cello line. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Are the notes overlapping?
    If they don't, no legato samples are triggered (only startingnotes) which need some time to develop the sound, especially in piano.
