  • Appassionata "VI-20_pizz": just 2 reps in PT, 4

    [EDIT]

In Pro Tools using the Fxpansion VST wrapper, there are just two samples alternating. AU or VST in Bidule yields just four different samples alternating. In standalone, all five repetitions are available.

  • If the stops between two notes are too long, the first note would be triggered, so you won't get the variations.

  • Thank you Herb. However, I do seem to still have some unexpected behaviour here.

I'm getting just two alternating samples in VI-20_staccato. I've tried repeated and varying pitches, at each velocity layer, at tempos up to 120bpm (16ths). Just two samples of any given pitch alternate.

And in VI-20_pizz (standalone), I am getting 4 samples rotating on repeated notes (not the 5 repetitions listed in the manual). (Strange as I could have sworn there were five yesterday in standalone. Arghh).

Perhaps there is an error on my part in operation or expectations; I would be happy to know this. I don't however think this is so. In any case, I'm quite certain of the results I'm reporting.

I can upload a MIDI and audio file if that would be helpful.

    I'm on a Mac Pro running 10.4.8.

  • Went through the rest of the patches with alternations/repetitions, and just to be complete: perf-rep_por, _spi, and _harsh are cycling through 8 samples (not 9).

    Thanks.

  • A starting note and cycle with 8 variations = 9 different notes.
It would sound artificial if the startingnote is part of the cycle.

Ah, that clears those repetion anomolies now that I understand this. Thank you.

I'm still not getting what's up with the staccatos though:
