  • Stereo Imaging problem with Violins

I have got the VI Orcehstral strings 1.

When I use the Violins legato patch - the sound shifts from left to right and back to left with different notes.

I had this problem earlier in Opus too but I adjusted the stereo width within gigastudio to avoid this effect.

I have used MIDI panning and I am using Altiverb effectively I believe - the stage positioning to the max left - but the sound still shifts. And it only happens with violins.

Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to get rid of this effect? I mean, I am sure there is nothing wron with the samples - Of course VSL has taken care of these things - but how to get rid of this?

I am sure other people have had this at some point? Should I use a mono track for the violins? I always use stereo tracks - I think it gives a better sound.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Best,
    Tanuj.

  • Hi there.

    >When I use the Violins legato patch

Which one? There are several options.

    >I have used MIDI panning and I am using Altiverb effectively I believe - the stage positioning to the max left

I suggest you create a new, simple test sequence with no MIDI panning data and without using Altiverb, then check whether you can still hear the sound shifting. If so, please describe which notes and velocities produce the effect!
