  • Exs24 Opus1 Mac library on PC... is it possible ???

    Hi,

I would like to order the Opus library but, actually, I am quite confuse about wich format I should order : Gigasampler
    or EXS24 ?

Here is my situation. I am still on PC with Audio Logic Window but I may
eventually add a Mac laptop powerbook to my setup. But, for right now, I will need to run the library on PC.
So, my main question is does the DVD EXS24 Opus Mac library will be readable/loadable on a PC ? I mean, will I be able to use the Mac exs24 library with Logic Audio Window like any other exs24 library with, of course, the exception that the Performence instrument and Performence tool will not be available ?

Are there any PC user who did that or, really, I have no choice than to go with the Giga library on PC ?

Hope somebody can clarify this for me

    Many thanks

    Michel

  • Sorry, no need to answer, unless you had bad experience on PC with the exs24 opus library. [:O]
I just got an email from Christian about it and so far it seems that the exs24 library will be OK...

  • yeah but I am curious as to the answer. tell me what CM said.

  • well one of the reasons i like to use the abbreviation *CM* is, that here at VSL are a series of christians - in this case the answering chris has been CK (christian kardeis, aka chriskard)
nevertheless: as far as we talk about *cube*-instruments (shall read: no performance tool needed) you're fine with logic on windows. if you have to get a performance tool in the chain you start fighting with midi routing issues - although the perftool for PC (as used for gigastudio) works for the _activated_ track you will receive the midi input on _all_ tracks if you are in the record or play/record mode of logic. CK and CT - another chris [;)] - our tool developer almost killed a machine trying several methods to route midi, split channels, ect to make that work - without success.
this seems to be related to the *audio instrument object*, so the method used with halion (route out midi through a virtual midiport, process midi using the performance tool, route back midi with a second virtual midiport to another track in logic) does not work.
maybe there is a trick which allows a workaround, but we didn't find any so far and i think it doesn't make sense to even ask for an update actually ...
