    Is it just me, or is there an unnatural characteristic to the legato string performance patches?

    I ask this in relation to the overall excellent sound of the cube. I just find that, in the violins/violas in particular, the overtly monophonic stealing of voices between notes is jarring...

    Is there some kind of special tool configuration I'm missing, or is this inherent in this style of programming?

    And it's also a little wierd that the PERF-VIOLAS go up almost as high as the PERF-VIOLINS. I wish we had the extra octave and half on the VIOLINS.

    HERB, when do we get violin harmonics for those eerie shrill compositions?

    Hey Evan,

    first let me say the work you are doing on EXS is making you my hero. I can't afford the testing time right (and am not a tech guy anyway) and your results may push me into OSX once i believe the rest of my system is stable I just can't afford down time. In the Pro edition there is an extensive set of Ponticello patches which IMO can give close to the effect you are looking for.

    On the updated range of performance violins , I think i remember Herb saying they are releasing those shortly.

    Another thing to consider when using the performance legato violin patches is as you are playing them and lifting off there is sort of a vacum depending on the patche. What i do is go in and lengthen the duration of the note so there is no time between lift off and putdown of your finger. I edit them so they overlap and the samples trigger properly.
