I have had several occassions now working in Logic 8 using Vienna Instruments where the system will lock up giving me only the little spinning colored pin-wheel. I have to physically hold the off button on the machine followed by reloading my audio drivers before anything works again....
1. Using a Mac Pro 3.00 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16GB Ram DDR2
2. Only have 1 instance of VI loaded (doesn't matter what patch - usually legato).
3. Soundcard is a PreSonus FireStudio with the latest drivers (have already spoken to them)
4. I attempt to load a cusom user preset in Logic 8
5. I then receive the error message:
LogicPro
Failed to load Audio Unit, please contact the manufacture for an updated version
or futher assistance (-10110)
6. The colored pin-wheel is present. Cannot exit Logic nor force a shut down.
7. Have to hold the power button in to shut down the machine
8. After cold start - no audio will play (not even mp3s)
9. Must reload the audio drivers, reboot the machine
I'm not pointing fingers at this point. It could be Logic, my soundcard or VI. The error message
is pointing to VI.
Please assist......
