  • Thanks for AP / TR-6 / Cornet / HO-8

Just wanted to thank VSL team again for these incredible libraries. I have a really 'picky' client that really loves 'trumpets - epic style'. He really hasn't like anything I have done in this regard to date.

I had him listen to the short demo I did for the TR-6's a month ago for VSL and he gave me the task to 'demo' something for his 'jungle theme' project.

He told me to think Tarzan fighting for his 'ape' family. All he said is that he didn't want it 'wimpy trumpet sample sounding'.

Happy to report he loves the new VSL trumpets. To boot - he wants to keep this 'sketch' theme as well [:D] .

  • Great piece Rob! I love the rhythmic drive over the melodic parts. Can you talk about what percussion you used? it's quite effective.

Wow! Those trumpet are great. I agree about the epic comment.

    The Fanfare Trumpets right?

    Cool piece too. [H]

  • Thanks Guy. Yea - it really is an assortment of the VSL perc (some timp, BD, thunder sheet) and some the True Strike 2 multi sampled material as well.

    A. Joe, Yea these are the new trumpets (six players) - but I have also found that a careful 'layer' of the new Cornet blends nicely. Obviously - like everything else, you can't use them across all styles of music -- but I think it works well for this kind of material - and more importantly -- my client thinks it works.

This project budget will not support many - if any 'live players' but the Director is now OK with that - given this new library.

Thanks again guys - hope this helps.
