  • VI SE orchestral piece

    Hi to everybody.
This is the first piece I created with VI Special Edition: any feedback is welcome. The piece is 2 minutes long and doesn't have an ending (just fades out).
I'm adding 2 links: one to the .mp3 file, the second one to the .wma file.

(go to "My Files". File name is "strch bounce 04" and if you click on it, it should open a streaming in your default player, in my case it opens iTunes)

(file name is "strch", just a working name)

    Thanks

    Paolo

  • Very nice Paolo. Love the atmosphere you've got!

    Mahlon

  • Thanks for your comment Mahlon.

  • any comment on the mix? i'd love some feedback about it because i'm not expert in that

  • Sorry, gipoti, I wouldn't be a good person to comment on the mix, as I'm deaf in one ear and can't hear stereo properly (not at all really). I'm not very good at mixing either, so I wouldn't trust my opinion at the moment.

Perhaps someone else will be good enough to listen and comment?

    Mahlon

  • hope so...
    but thanks anyway [:)]

  • hi paolo,

at first the track: i dont want to give you any advice or special comment about composition, cause i think, in this forum there are people that are simply better.. so far just: i like the atmosphere you built up [:)]

    sound:
in general it sounds good - its sounds like the vienna libraries [:)]
talking about the always wanted linear frequency spectrum: i think there is a little bit overweigth in between 300 hz and 2khz... so i would try to push up a little bit at 8 to 12khz, wide q-faktor and giving the bass a little bit more at 60-70, small q-faktor (so it doesnt harm anything over 120 hz).. just an idea... i noticed this with my solo strings...

    hope this comment was helpful...

    markus

  • Hi Markus, thank you very much, that's really helpful. I'll try to change the EQ according to your suggestions. And I suppose this is something I can keep in mind in future mixes, so thanks a lot. [:)]
