  • Demo starts being used for no reason?

    Hi,

I'm using the Orchestral Strings I and Brass I VI's (both extended) and the demo starts on my ViennaKey are running out. The 2 collections are showing up in the LCC as authorised so I don't see why I'm losing starts.

I have just under 50 left and I only noticed because the LCC gave me a warning. The VI's are loaded into Plogue Bidule in Windows XP. I'm nearing the end of a commission and the last thing I want to happen is to have Bidule refuse to load up the sounds as the project nears conclusion!

Can anyone think why this might be happening?

    Thanks in advance,

    Martin

  • mosso, i can confirm your licenses downloaded to your ViennaKey correctly and for both (strings I and brass I) the standard and extended license is active.

there is just one thing i could think of: there are strings patches which contain also cello and double bass references - if you are trying to load those the demo starts might count down (but you should receive a message *wave file not found* or similar)

  • Thanks for the reply Christian. I've had a look through my current template and all the string patches I'm using in the violins & violas VI's begin with VI-14 or VA-10. I tried loading one of the combined string patches just to check and I did get the message you mentioned (wave not found etc.), but I haven't seen it any of the other times I've loaded this template.

I'm not running the latest version of the LCC (I'm running 5.2.6.2) - would that make a difference? I am running the latest version of Bidule.

Have any other users out there spotted similar behaviour?

    Thanks again for the help,

    Martin

  • IIRC more or less the difference between 5.2.6.2 and the current one is just the included license database, but this would not apply to your case.

if you have a second syncrosoft e-licenser you could transfer the demo license to this one and see what happens (any messages appear), even if you remove the demo license nothing should change.

can't remember now a certain case where demo starts count down without reason ... just drop an email to support@vsl.co.at or my email in case you notice license problems later.

  • Thanks Christian. Will be in touch if it causes any problems.
