  • If I buy Solo Strings...

...is there a demo period for the Extended library? I am wondering b/c I believe that the Standard library might suffice, but I would REALLY like to get an idea of what is included on the Extended library. I only ask, b/c I have purchased so many libraries based on "demos" and I have been dissappointed,so I would REALLY love to test drive some stuff before I comittedto upgarding unless it was necessary.

    Thanks,

on the product page for the ViennaKey http://vsl.co.at/en-us/211/412/251.vsl
you can display an info on demo modes http://vsl.co.at/static/vi_pop/shop_vk_demo_modes.asp

    Demo Mode #1
Even before registering your VIENNA INSTRUMENTS Collection you can test the product on any computer with a new ViennaKey plugged in. There are 180 “starts” available. This number doesn’t refer to starting up the computer or to starting a new session.
Each of the following procedures is a “start”: Instantiating the VIENNA INSTRUMENT, loading a Collection, or loading an instrument from the Extended Library. So the period of time you can use the VIENNA INSTRUMENTS in Demo Mode #1 depends on how often and how many instruments you audition. Therefore we recommend registering your products as soon as possible.

    Demo Mode #2
This is the 30 day demo mode after registering your Vienna Instruments Collection which is available upon request only: If you have bought only the Standard Library, you can try out the Extended Library for 30 days. You have 30 starts available in these 30 days. If you’ve used up your 30 starts before your 30 day trial period has expired, please connect to the Syncrosoft Server using your License Control Center to get another 30 starts.

Please note that your Vienna Instruments Patches, Matrices and Presets for a saved project won¹t load anymore once the corresponding Demo License for the given Extended Library has expired.
You might want to purchase and register the Extended Libraries used in your arrangement well in time before the Demo License expires.

  • Okay, this may be premature b/c I do not own any VSL library....yet, but I am interested in the Solo Strings and based on the MP3 demos it sounds very promising, but what if I get it and it doesn't sound right enough or good enough or whatever and I want a refund. IS this possible? I don't mean to quibble, but I am really sick and tired of spending money on libraries that disappoint. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect usability and I am sure that VSL is excellent quality, but if I am considering the Solo String Extended set...that's $1000. to spend to be disappointed and that is TOOO much to take a chance.

SO,any return policy...just in case. I figure since the Syncrosoft key is used, just wiping out your key license shoud be fair.

    Just wondering.

  • you already asked in another post if there is a demo mode available for the extended library and the answer was: yes.
as far as the question touches the standard library (with the media) please check details with your authorized dealer, who will sell the product to you or in case you order online on the VSL website your respective distributor (who is responsible for sale and delivery) http://vsl.co.at/en-us/65/75/25.vsl

currently there is no option to *wipe* a license, so the key holding the respective license had to be returned too.

  • Well, I just received my Solo String library(std) and there is NOT an option to demo the extended set. Am I missing something? Did I not install something correctly? I was NEVER even given an option to have the demo.

Well, although I am currently pleased with my purchase I am really curious about the Universal Matrix and I see that it is only available in the extended set.

Any help from a moderator would be welcomed.

    Thanks,

  • luces, i just notice the wording for demo mode #2 is incomplete - it should read *available on request to activate@vsl.co.at* ...
however, since your key is not a ViennaKey (coming with the 180 starts demo mode #1) i've sent you a demo mode #2 code to your registered email address.

  • Thanks Christian. I received your message.

I am really enjoying the VI player. Simple, yet effective. I hope that other manufacturers take a lesson from you. I particularly like the XFade features and how the cells interact. Also, the sound quality is very nice and it blends with many different styles.

    Thanks again for everything.
