I am considering purchasing the VSL pro edition for ESX24. I currently run a logic based composing setup with one GIGA on a G4 500. I am planning to get a new G5 and would like to use VSL primarialy on the ESX platform, but would also like to have the option to use my GIGA in the event that the ESX or the G5 can't handle the load. If I get the VSL Pro Edition for ESX when it comes out will I be able to somehow convert portions of it (brass for example) it to GIGA as well if I want? thanks MT

Using GIGA and ESX24 with VSL - possible?

i get a little confused with the pricing plans but as I understand it, you could buy first edition in giga format ,upgrade to the pro edition in EXS and they give you with your EXS pro edition the entire first edition also in EXS. you would essentially have 2 first editions, one in giga and one in EXS and the pro part in EXS. Of coursre the order could probably be reversed. BTW the EXS edition handles VSL beautifully and is fairly efficient with memory. I prefer the flexibility of VSL in EXS over Giga. Hopefully that will change once Giga 3.0 is out and more dimensions are added to the giga format. A G5 should be pretty killer with this set up.
