    Hi

    I bought the Special Edition and planned to use my Cubase USB key that came with SX1.
    Now I read that in the meanwhile, there has been a change in the USB key. For example Cubase C4 is delivered with a key that is physical shorter. According to an info on wikipedia, the older key is less responsive thatn the new one.
    Now my question: Does the VI change it's reponsiveness depending on the USB key? Has VSL done any tests?

    tele, i can't comment on *responsiveness* (whatever this is meant to be) - older syncrosoft keys have less space to store licenses, so i'd assume an SX1 key would hold only up to 3-4 licenses.
    i have a halion2 key here which does not behave different compared to a new ViennaKey ...

    I think that tele is referring to the fact that dongle calls (in other applications) are alleged to slow the application down to a crawl, and that the newer dongles are able to cope with this more easily.

    Obviously this doesn't apply to Vienna Instruments. [:D]

    That would really be cool. As I get it from a long term cubase.net user , he tested his C4 with the older and the newer dongle and found the apllication to be faster with the new dongle. Of course it all depends on when "dongle calls" are issued". E.g. if it's just upon startup and loading/saving patches, then it won't make a difference for number of instances/voices than can be run simultanously.
