    Sorry I didn't see that you tried re-installing the instruments. That may be the problem at this point. You may have to delete them from the drive and start over. Do you have the latest versions of all the VI software (Program, Installer, Directory Manager?) Make sure you do.

    You may want to wait before you go to this extent and see if someone has an easier answer for you (but my guess is that a broken installation would cause problems for sure.)

    Why?

    Numerous reasons, not the least it's apparent total indictment of VSL's product. Not that you meant that but there are some folks saying something like that around here these days. VSL is great as Nick will tell you and works quite well.
