    for the percussion patches it would really be handy to see the mapping on VI's keyboard like in Kontakt.

    It isn't possible but it would be nice if it were, especially in percussion patches. However, I doubt whether this feature will be added at this relatively late stage.

    I'd also like to see mapping - it would be really helpful, also for seeing where keyswitch notes are.

    There are already instruments available that need a slightly different GUI, so I don't see why one couldn't be produced for Percussion. I would imagine that when the Choir module is eventually released, this will need a drastically different interface, as I would imagine that it has some sort of word facility built in. No, I don't know anything specific, but I can't imagine that VSL would want to remain behind the technology curve on this one, particularly as they are already being left behind by not having a 64bit player.

    the "problematic" part about the key ranges is that our Performance Instruments work with a very complex mapping AND that the refreshing of the key ranges when you switch between different articulations and instruments would take too much CPU power.

    But let´s see what the future brings, we are aware of what you´re saying.

    Dear DG: The 64 bit Vienna Instruments will be out there as soon as there are enough drivers and hosts available to guarantee a stable workflow on 64 bit machines. We want to make sure that you are not the beta testers of a new operating system. It will be very exciting when the time has come.
    A 64 bit system is as strong as its weakest link.

    I'm ready now. VSL is the only thing missing for me. XP64, established and stable, FXT 64bit has been released, but I can't use it until VSL gets its act together. Obviously I would rather that the VI bugs were sorted out first, but other manufacturers have already released 64bit products, so get on with it....! [6]

    Thanks for your reply.
    I hear what you're saying and obviously don't want a drop in VI performance. However, one usually wants to see mapping info at the programmimg stage (ie not when the whole piece is running), so the extra demand on CPU would possibly not be noticed.

    For example:
    My sequencer is stopped.
    I'm programming a part and want to know where certain instruments and/or keyswitches are mapped. I may change matrix or articulation and this will need more CPU for an instant, but my demand at this time is almost zero.

    When I'm finished, I hit [play] and the CPU load is as it normally would be, as I'm not asking VI for more info than is currently displayed.
