This is becoming very annoying - does anyone know how to stop this happening?

Hitting stop closes the large VI window

What host are you using? What key command for stop?
At a rough guess:
VI works as a separate app (not really like other plugins). When the VI window is in front (ie when you have been working with it), then *VI* (not your host app) is receiving key commands.
You must first click back on your host (eg Logic) before it will recognise any key commands.
Hope this helps

Native Instruments plugins are really bad - they "steal" your key commands as if they were on top.
I also use Logic and my workaround is to create different screensets for when I use FM8/Absynth etc. I'll do whatever I need to do eg find and edit sounds, then just go back to other screensets without the NI plugs.
The real hassle with VI is that every time you change screensets, the main VI window goes away.
Herb & co: can this be fixed in an update - so that the host program doesn't lose the VI window?

Remember, the V.I. Player is a separate program, and the plug-in only sends it MIDI and streams audio into the host's mixer. That's why its window isn't saved with the Logic screenset.
