  • Orchestral Cube standard or Special Edition Full

I am planing my next purchase and thinking about either Orch. Cube Std. or Sp. Edition full.

Does Std. Cube give me more then Sp. Edition? I know that some patches in Sp. Edition have less layers then in Cube, but besides that what are my pros and cons considering the price difference?

Anyone have had chance to try both?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Sasha,

it's hard to advise you properly there - it really depends on what you're aiming at. If you look at the articulation lists on our products pages, you'll find that the Extended Library of the Special Edition contains some additional instruments (piano, organ, harpsichord, oboe d'amore, acoustic and electric guitar, etc.) but of course those are only "light" versions. If you can do without them but are looking for a wider range of articulations for every instrument, the Cube Standard Library would offer those: E.g., in the Solo Strings you also get short and long détachés, marcato, trills, performance repetitions and glissandos. So the choice obviously is more instruments or more articulations (and often with more velocity layers).

    Hope that helps,
    David
