    I seem to be finding it difficult to find a VST host for my VI instruments. Im using a MacPro for my DAW running logic pro and using an iMac to host my VI. I am looking for for a host application for the iMac. I have V stack but unfortunately Steinberg has not released an Intel binary version. Rax is no longer made and Pogue's Bidule seems rather compliucated plus the fact that it doesnt have any obvious ways to create effect sends. If you know of a way then I would be glad to know. I could use a sequncer like cubase etc but that would be expensive and also take up a lot of RAM that could be used for samples.

    If anyone has any ideas or could help with some suggestions then i would be very grateful.

    i've been under the impression cubase 4 (no longer called SX) and cubase studio 4 runs on intel macs and has VST support ... however we are still waiting on nuendo 4

    Are some of the VIs you want to run on your iMac available only in VST format? Is AU not an option?

    The VIs are available in both AU and VST formats so really any host that supports these formats. Im looking at the two pieces of software that you mentioned.

    Feelings may be mixed about this, but OSX comes with something called AULab, which is already on one of your system install CDs as part of the Developer Tools. Because it's free, it's at least worth a try. I had it up and running on a second Mac and was able to route audio from my G5 to a MacPro. Some people have praised it for being so simple while others have been disappointed for the same reasons. It depends on the depth of your needs.

    This is why I asked if you were limited to VST, because being able to use AU offers you some additional options.
