  • Will Vienna SE work with Sonar 5

    Hello,
I am considering purchasing Vienna SE to run with Sonar 5 on a PC. I have a Pentium 4, 3.2 Ghz machine with 2 GB Ram. Will I be able to do this using Vienna SE as a VST instrument. I read about tweaking a PC if it was previously a Giga machine, which this was not. Also, I understand the LAA concept, but since I will be running SE(only 1-2 layers) does this apply?

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • welcome JL, IIRC there was an update needed to a *raw install* of sonar 5 because of some VST issues, but basically: yes, you can use this combination.
having 2 GB RAM *only* [;)] you wouldn't need to make your host LAA aware, IMO this makes only sense if you have 3GB RAM or more.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks for your help Christian. Does the "standard" version of SE include the feature "speed control" or do I have to get the extended version in order to take advantage of that?

speed control is a feature of the Vienna Instruments player and with the special edition the extended library adds more instruments (please see product page - buttons articulations and standard/extended library).
to read through the features of the VI player (including speed control) please download the manual - you don't need to have products registered, but to be registered with your personal record.
