    Hello,
    I am considering purchasing Vienna SE to run with Sonar 5 on a PC. I have a Pentium 4, 3.2 Ghz machine with 2 GB Ram. Will I be able to do this using Vienna SE as a VST instrument. I read about tweaking a PC if it was previously a Giga machine, which this was not. Also, I understand the LAA concept, but since I will be running SE(only 1-2 layers) does this apply?

    welcome JL, IIRC there was an update needed to a *raw install* of sonar 5 because of some VST issues, but basically: yes, you can use this combination.
    having 2 GB RAM *only* [;)] you wouldn't need to make your host LAA aware, IMO this makes only sense if you have 3GB RAM or more.

    Thanks for your help Christian. Does the "standard" version of SE include the feature "speed control" or do I have to get the extended version in order to take advantage of that?

    speed control is a feature of the Vienna Instruments player and with the special edition the extended library adds more instruments (please see product page - buttons articulations and standard/extended library).
    to read through the features of the VI player (including speed control) please download the manual - you don't need to have products registered, but to be registered with your personal record.
