  • vi-bugs?

i have two problems with the current version of the vi-player:

the first one occurs when velocity x-fade is controlled by the note-on velocity. whereas the corresponding "velocity blend" instruments in the old sample libraries worked perfectly, in the vi´s this seems to be realized simply by adjusting a global controller for all playing notes. i.e. when i play a held piano note and then play a second forte note the volume of the held piano note jumps discontinuously to forte, too - these glitches render this function totally unusable.

what´s even worse when i try to open a song that also includes vi's without the synchrosoft key inserted logic always freezes (infinitely spinning beachball) and strange synchrosoft error-windows appear that cannot even be closed anymore.

are these known bugs that will be fixed in a forthcoming update or am i simply doing something wrong?

  • sorry to bump this, but since noone else seems to have these problems i wonder whether i made a wrong assignment here ...
due to the reduced number of velocity layers in the special edition it would be extremely useful for me to have "velocity-blend" available in order to smooth out the - partly considerable - volume steps of the ensemble sounds.
has anyone managed to do this?

  • I don't understand the problem. Set velocity xFade to a continuous controller and away you go.

this requires to adjust an additional controller prior to each note - unfortunately i am not skilled enough to do this while playing. with a continuous controller i would also loose the small inherent velocity fluctuations that make it sound more realistic. therefore, for me velocity is more natural - after all this parameter is called "velocity x-fade" [:D] .

  • All I can suggest is do as I have suggested, or switch velocity xFade off altogether. I still don't really understand your problem, as it is not a problem with ensemble instruments here. Solo instruments are another story, however....
