  • VI - how to identify patches by their names?

Pardon my possibly stupid question, but.. Opus 1 came with a manual explaining the naming conventions. So if there's a patch like VI-pr-tx-bb (I just made that up) [[;)]] the Opus manual tells you what those things stand for.

In VI, there are a few things I'm not clear on. Like tune vs. tune_li. The manual that comes with VI Appassionata Strings seems to be a manual for the VI interface, not for Appassionata specifically. Where can I get the lowdown on what all the patches are?

Oh PS: damn you, Vienna team.. VI's interface is PERFECT and the amount of control over instrument behavior is incredible. Now I'm hooked and feel the urge to buy the whole Symphonic Cube. [[;)]]

  • Have you downloaded the manual from the User Area?

    Hi MDesigner,

when you click on a patch, you always get a short description in the information window (the "magic eye" of the VI).

And please find more detailed instrument descriptions here.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Ah, so my question was indeed stupid [;)] I should've checked around on the VSL site first.

    Thanks, guys!
