  • Workflow - Number of Instances

I am looking to get the VI Cube shortly but would like to get a better sense of the workflow involved. If I want to set up a template for a standard orchestral setup (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, FH, bone, tuba, perc-pitched, percussion-unpitched, Strings (5 instruments X 3 for solo, chamber and ensemble), am I looking at roughly 25 instances as a template for a basic orchestra spread over several machines?

I am a bit convcerned about screen clutter and keeping track of all of these plug-ins. How do you all address this?

  • For a full blown orchestra you'll probably need more instances.
Most of the heavy used articulations are monophonic ( performance leg etc)
So for a woods by 3 you're looking at 12 for woods, 10-12 for brass,
timp, harp, piano, bd, sd, piatti and maybe 15 for strings.
    Thats more like 45 instances!
But offcause this is only if you wan't it all under your finger tips at any
    given time.

Mind you - you don't have to have the interface to each VI open, so
they won't clutter up the screen.
And if you have several computers, a large number of the instances will
    be running there.

I use remote client and thus call up the different screens of each computer
to look at the VI instances running on a particular computer.
