  • Cell crossfading question

    Hi all

On the horizontal matrix cell #7a, I want the upper cell to be empty and the lower cell to contain a sustain patch, so that I can crossfade from silence to sustain.

After dragging the sustain patch to both the upper and lower cells, when I try to delete the upper cell, it deletes the lower cell as well.

It seems that I cannot drag a patch to just the lower cell either - it always places the patch in the upper cell.

    How do I do this?

    Thanks,
    Mike.

  • The upper cell has to be filled, before you can load anything to the lower cell. I also think, that the crossfade button can only be activated when both cells are filled.

I would suggest to load a small "dummy" patch into one cell (a fp or sfz patch, they are small) and set the volume fader of this patch to cero.
Now you could crossfade from any patch to silence.

    best

  • Thanks Herb - this was the solution that I figured out myself - I just wanted to confirm that there was no other way to do it.

I filled the upper cell with the same patch as the lower cell, as I am assuming that the patch data is shared between cells and therefore does not use more RAM.

    Regards,
    Mike.
