I just purchased the Special Woodwinds collection and finished installing it. I registered the collection on the VSL website, downloaded the licenses onto my iLok, and tried to open the standalone program. But I get a very weird error.
A dialog box comes up that says "Custom Data Folder is inaccessible. Please use Directory Manager to specify a new Custom Data folder." I find that strange, since I didn't have this problem before I installed the Special Woodwind collection. Fine, I'll just go ahead and specify a new location. (Note to programmers: I can't exit this dialog box, nor can I quit the program. I have to do a force quit to get it to go away.)
So I open the Directory Manager, find that the old location was pointing to "Users->(username)->Vienna Instruments Custom Data." That seems like a valid location to me, but just for giggles, let's create a new folder called "test" right on the desktop and have it point to that folder. Presto, the standalone will now work.
So, here's the question: Why is the standalone having trouble locating something two folders deep, but it doesn't have a problem when I point to the desktop?
