    Hello.
    I wonder if you could tell me how I can achieve this:
    I have the horns playing continuous cresc. and decresc. What I want, is to be able to detune (sharpen) the horns a bit as they do the cresc, and flatten them a bit when decresc. Just a little, maybe 15-20 cents.
    Can i do this in real time, as if I would use the pithc wheel on a MIDI module?

    I'm using the ProEdition and Gigastudio.

    Pitch Wheel would be my first approach and the easiest. Zoom in to redraw or edit your ramps for fine detailing.

    There may be some Doppler-type of plugin into which an audio snippet could be edited and flown back into your sequence, but this may be more trouble than its worth.

    I don't think the Pitch Wheel works in GS Pro Edition. You'll need to program it yourself. [:'(]

    Programming in Gigastudio is no fun. When you hit 'edit' the whole Giga file is loaded into the Giga editor utility, which is not exactly intuitive. More often than not you can't hear the effect of your edit until you save your changes. Once you've made an edit and hit 'save', the whole Giga file is re-saved, even if you've only edited one instrument. Sometimes the editor appears to be re-writing hundreds of samples to the hard drive, which is scary.

    But at least you can make an edit, which you can't do with the Vienna Instrument!

    Could you briefly explain how to make such an edit? Or point me in the right direction, please?

    I have found nothing in the manual that shows me how to do that, and the edit window looks a bit intimidating (to me), and I just don't see where I can adjust or tell GS to allow me to do these pitch bends. I just need 1/2 tone back and forward, maybe a little bit more.

    My workaround, in the mean time, has been to do this in Digital Performer with the pitch correction function, but it is way less than ideal.

    This can not be terrible hard to do in GS, can it?

    Hi Miguélez.

    In GigaStudio, instruments patches are saved as part of a Giga file (.gig) -.gig files usually contain multiple instruments.
    Open GigaStudio*.
    Load the instrument you want to edit.
    Launch the Giga Instrument Editor utility by right clicking on the instrument name in the lower right pane and hitting 'Edit'.
    Giga Instrument Editor will open (sometimes takes a while to load all the instruments and samples in the .gig file).
    Find the patch you want to edit in the Instrument Bank pane (top left).
    Right-click on its name and select 'Properties'.
    Write a figure in the Pitch Bend (semitones) box.
    Hit 'Apply' then hit OK. (If 'Apply' is greyed out, just hit OK.)
    Select 'File' and do a 'Save As'.
    (Even though you may have made only one small edit, the Editor often saves the entire Giga file with all its instruments and samples - a bit scary but that's the way it works.)
    You may not hear the effect of your edits till you save and re-load the instrument.
    You can re-load an edited Giga file without exiting the Instrument Editor.

    (* Alternatively, you can open the Instrument Editor independent of GigaStudio by clicking on GsEdit.exe in your Tascam folder.)
