    Like other people on this forum, I am thinking of using SE as a sketch pad whilst away from home. As things stand at the moment, I am assuming that when I try to load these projects into my main system (with the full Cube) they won't load. I think that it would be very helpful to have a "conversion" tool of some sort, so that the same patches (obviously now with chromatic sampling) could be loaded. It seems a very clunky way to work to have to set everything up from scratch each time I transfer to my main system. Thoughts anyone?

    I hope we wont have to do all those tricks to reopen it on the main computer

    Me too, but as the sample pool is locked I'm slightly concerned.

    Easiest way ist to setup a matrix with any Symphonic Cube Instrument which matches exactly with the analog Special Edition Instrument Matrix.
    Using same controllers/keyswitches etc.

    Special Edition instruments do have a maximum of 5 to 8 patches.
    To make a matching setup of any instrument should be done in less of a minute.

    Does that mean that even if we use the ready made presets, we'll have to reopen every used instruments ?

    Thanks Herb, but this is not the answer that I was hoping for. it should be possible to open the project and the player know how to convert it for the Cube (and other products). Perhaps this could be thought about at some stage, as otherwise it could waste a lot of time transferring from system to system.

    This request seems almost impossible to implement in a way that will work for the majority. How should the SE instrument know what MIDI ch's you use for which patches, how should it be able to convert several MIDI channels of setup (pan, volume, whatever...) and so on? Not a venture I would like to embark on for sure if I were VSL. And not something I think it's fair to demand...

    The SE instrument doesn't really have to know anything, but the Cube instrument should be able to translate the patch names from SE into the patch names for the Cube. I also didn't demand anything, as that would be most un-British. [:D]

    The SE has unique pathes for each wavfile, (this informations are stored in each matrixfile and presetfile), and the SC also.
    So even if the matrix and presetnames are identical you won't be able to load a matrixfile designed with the SE with the SC database and vice versa.

    Yes, I understand this, but it would be cool to have a little app that could convert one to the other.
