Hello Paul and Herb,
I am still eagerly awaiting the VSL, and can hardly stand the wait! [:D] I have a few questions I was hoping you could answer that would help me assess what I should be expecting when VSL arrives.
1) For the demos you have posted, both full orchestra and the individual instruments, are you using performance elements from just the First/Pro edition, or are you using performance elements from the future Symphonic Cube? In other words, are you just using Legato, Repetition, Octave Runs, and Appoggiaturas for these posted demos, or are you also using Scale, Broken Chord, and other additional performance elements that are only going to be released at the end of the next year with the Symphonic Cube? I just want to know if I can expect my compositions to sound as good as yours are or if I will be needing to wait another year... [:'(]
2) Can you describe, in detail if possible, your composition equipment setup for the demos that you created? How many Gigastudios do you have up at once? Do you have large amounts of samples up to make the composition as complete sounding as possible as you compose? Or do you start with basic sets of sounds and then load in each full set of sounds and performance elements on a second "polish-pass" instrument by instrument? I'm just curious how the VSL creators are using the system so I can make sure I have a solid system set up. Again, please be as detailed as possible about the equipment you use and how you use it.
3) Seeing as the Performance Set is going to be delayed after the Symphonic Cube ships, can you give people that have ordered the Complete Orchestral Package some downloadable PDF document that outlines all the Gigastudio banks and their sizes? I just want to be able to prepare myself and get some templates ready before it arrives. It could also help me determine how many Giga systems I need to invest in. Also, when should we (in the USA) be expecting to receive the Performance Set?
Thanks for your (future) reply, and I am very excited to see what can be done with your incredible library. Happy New Year! [:)]
