  • Just a small question

I just purchased the entire extended edition (cept the saxes) and was messing around with some patches in the performance tool and I came upon some celli patches in the Appassionata string library.

Basically, if you connected the notes it would "gliss" up to the next one. I was wonder how you can make this switchable with the pitch wheel or something (like you see on the demos)

Or, if you could tell me what term that is (portamento?) so I could build the patch myself possibly?

  • just to have the terms clear ... it is the vienna instruments player - the performance tool is the midi-processor used for performance elements from the sample library products (pro edition, horizon series)

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • The Appassionata cellos performance legatos can be instantly switched between portamento (sliding between notes) and normal legato - press the lowest 'A' key on the VI and you'll hear normal legato, use the lowest 'B' key to switch on the portamento effect.

You can't build your own patches in the Vienna Instrument.

  • Oh thanks. Actually what I meant is just making your own presets and messing with the matrix.

I would prefer that those are switched via pitch wheel if possible. But thanks for the info!

  • You can use pitch wheel to switch between cells in a matrix, but as far as I know the only way to switch matrices within a preset is to use keyswitches. (No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong!)

  • You can switch Matrices also with programm changes.
