    I see on the demo CD there is an instrument (VI-14_basic_all_demo) that uses Key Switches.

    I assume this is a Giga feature? I'm on EXS24 and I don't know Giga functions at all - am I missing something vital? Is there a way to audition these Key Switches on EXS24?

    Also, will there be a similar type of function for EXS24?

    Giga Import on EXS24 works fine, KeySwitches are also converted! You copy the sounds to your "Sampler Instruments" folder (within Logic folder on yourt hard drive) and they are converted the first time you select them within Logic. You may then have to open up the Instrument Editor and look at the groups (make sure "All" is selected under "View") to see which keys switch what.

    Thanks for that lead - I had all the Giga files in the right place, Logic converted them as I loaded them, but I didn't realise that the keys in the C0-> range worked the keyswitches as they didn't show up in the mapping as I had expected.

    I did have View All selected as always - just didn't realise the keyswitches were working. [:O]ops:

    Are you planning to use VSL? And if so, with EXS24? That's what I'm considering myself right now, but Giga-users on this forum are sceptical that one computer will have the power to handle the demands.

    Yes, I'm very interested in VSL, using EXS24 and Logic 5.5 (or even Logic 6 if the NAMM rumours are true).

    I currently use a Mac G4 Dual 1.25 Ghz and I haven't been able to make it fall over yet! [+o(]

    I think that using EXS24 with Hard-disk streaming, plus enough RAM (I have 1 Gb) I should be okay. If my system starts shaking at the knees, I'll have to re-assess. Anyway, since Emagic will be Mac-only in future, I'm not about to go PC.

    We can expect faster G4's or even G5's soon so I'm sure that VSL will become easier to handle as time goes by.

    Who knows......time will tell.
