    I have been loading 2.8 gigs on two of my PC's with P4's at 3.4ghz on XP Pro. I have just configured another PC with the some of the latest components and want to do the same on XP Pro for now as well. It's an Intel, Core 2 Duo, Asus mobo etc. (see thread: Building PC Please Advise)

    One of the good fellows here said he is not able to access more than 2 gigs of ram with similar components so my questions is: Is anyone running the 3gb switch on the new Intels and accessing close to 3 gb's? I didn't research this and want to confirm it before I buy.

    With the Core2Duo, the behavior with the /3gb switch is the same

    Just ran some checks on my newly installed PC - the E6300 xp
    Everything is fine - I just seem to have missed the LAA on fx-teleport - now
    that its large address aware I can load up until the commit charge show just
    below 2.9 gb - running three instances of VSL loaded with >2.5 gb of
    samples, totaling 40.161 samples [[:D]] [[:|]] [[:D]]

    Edit: Removed the userva and are now up to 3gb commit charge and 43000
    samples - eh, but its a bit sluggish now - so that the absolut limit. [H]

    be careful setting the /USERVA - a little bit below 3 GB, say 2950 or so will be safer, because some video or PCI cards might need a few MB in the upper memory too. this depends on motherboard and configuration.

    That makes sense Bjorne that FXT would need to be LAA. I think I will be happy with 2.9 gigs and good performance (don't know how to change userva - only know setting switch. [:)]

    on your system volume (usually C:/) ther is a file boot.ini (privileges mostly set to read only) - an example could read:

    edit: if that's the utility that makes hosts like Plogue LAA I have it and it's great. cm was referring to changes in the boot file which must be done manually (I think.)
