    Can someone tell me what the difference is between VI-6 perf-rep-spic and VI-6 short staccs. I can hear that the staccs are more aggressive - just not sure of the application of the rep patches. I am just really discovering the perf-rep-X patches and want to know where folks are using them mostly (spicc, port, leg).

    Also scratching my head as to why I would also use the VI-6 perf-rep-leg patch over the std leg patch???

    Hi Rob,

    the perf-reps always come in when you have a number of repeating notes in your line. While normal staccatos and legatos were recorded note for note, the repetitions are first recorded and then cut and adjusted to give you real repetitions with the transition from one note to the next. Also, the repetitions mostly have 5 (legato, slow portato) to 9 different samples, so you get more variety than with a normal staccato or legato. Of course, if it's only a question of 2 or 3 repetitions, you can also use the perf-interval legatos.

    Rob-- the perf-rep articulations can often be used instead of the regular stac and port patches even when you are NOT playing repeated notes. I find the perf-rep-stac with the woodwinds and brass to often have more punch and character than the regular stac. Check them out!

    Great Jay - many thanks. They do have a lot more than MORE variations - sounds much different in many cases (in a good way). Feels like I just received a new library [:P]
