  • Question about Vienna Key

I have officially activated and registered 3 of my 5 newly purchased Vienna Instrument sets so far.

However, I still CANNOT access the loaded sample folders without putting in the Vienna Key!

I thought I'd read the manual correctly, as to where once you had officially registered the discs, that you no longer had to keep putting in the key for them, so there won't be any worries after the key runs out of the 180 starts-am I under the wrong assumption? Or have I missed a step in the process here? I Would appreciate some help-Thanks.

  • You must have the key inserted any time you want to use VSL.

I never used up my starts before I got my extended codes, but I do recall that there was some way to refresh your start count. I just don't remember how users were instructed to this, though.

  • DKW, similar to logic and cubase you can run the respective product only if the key holding the licenses is attached.

the wording should read similar to: *opposed to the earlier procedure the key has now to be attached during installing the _license control center_*, this does not refer to the Vienna Instruments license itself.

for your conveniance (eg. if you don't have internet available in your studio) every Vienna Key comes with a 180 starts demo license to allow immediate installation, but as long as no respective permanent license is downloaded to the ViennaKey each start of an instrument would count down the number of available starts.

demo mode #1 licenses (180 starts) cannot be reloded, demo mode #2 licenses (30 days/30 starts) can be reloaded within the timelimit.
demo licenses are available on request to activate@vsl.co.at only.
