    Hello - I just purchased my first Vienna instruments, the chamber and solo strings. When I attempt to register the instruments, entering the first 3 characters of the serial numbers "V02" or "V01" (depending on which library I attempt to register) prompts error message "The first letter is not valid!". I have tried upper and lower case v, and I have tried registering on a Mac and on a PC. I am stuck! Is there a problem with the website? Thanks.

    i'd assume you are trying to register on the sample libraries page instead of the vienna instruments registration - please note you will be asked to register at least one ViennaKey before.

    Thank you for the quick reply! Sorry for my newbie ignorance - I keep seeing references to the ViennaKey, which seem to assume I already have one. However, I didn't receive one with the instruments I purchased. [*-)]: I will contact the dealer...

    to download licenses for a vienna instruments library you need to have a ViennaKey (which is basically a syncrosoft USB protection device also used by other vendors) - it is not included in the box of a collection because usually you would download more than a single license to one key.
    this is also mentioned on the produckt pages and listed under system requirements, but possibly this information is not prominent enough - sorry about a resulting disappointment.
