    Finally considering to buy the whole lot... [[:|]]

    So my final question:
    I'd like to install the whole VI's on 1 system (for now PC).
    No sharing between multiple systems so far.

    If in the near future I consider to have them all on a second system, do I really have to buy the whole lot again? As the last discussion with Paul was showing, this would be the case - which I cannot believe!
    I am the same user, TO BUY 2 FULL LIBRARIES??? It cannot be.

    Herb - there must be an license plan! Or is it not?

    Ah yes: AND WHEN WILL MIR BE AVAILABLE??????????

    matt, basically site-licenses are only available for educational purposes. for special needs or agreements please contact our sales-department sales@vsl.co.at but please allow a few days for a reply, because AFAIK everybody is at the NAMM right now.

    Matt, can't you just move the dongles from one system to the other, or do I not understand the issue properly?

    You don't see my point.
    VSL is forcing us to only use the VI's one 1 system. I'd like to work flexible. That means I do not want to split the VI instruments over e few systems what the dongle works for. We are not given the possibility to have to systems at the same time with the same data running parallel, because they make it depend on 1 serial.

    Buying a product to me means having the freedom to use it on sveral systems at the same time with the same content on each - what is the problem????!!!!

    VSL just wants to squeeze more money out of it. So - and that's what I was told by Paul - if I want to have the VI's run with the same content on two machines (for ex. MAC and PC), then I have to purchase a second license which is the full price... educational side licences? So do it for privates as well - what is the problem?????

    Ah, now I see your point. However, there are many software products that, according to the licence agreement, are only allowed to be used by the licence holder and only on one system at one time. After all, what would stop you "giving" a copy to one of your friends, or even selling it on eBay?

    Further, I would ask two questions.

    1)How are you able to use two systems at the same time anyway?
    2) Does your sequencer allow for use on two systems at the same time?

    and even then would be an option to receive a temporary linked license.
    more probably you will need to split the symphonic cube across more machines ...

    I'm with Matt on this - it would be way more flexible to have a real distributed
    environment - with instruments available on several machines.

    You could then startup just your main daw for some initial work - still having
    all instruments on this one machine - then bringe in more power from other
    machines later.

    It also helps balancing the setup dynamically - as it is now, if you have distributed the collections on say 4 machines optimized for full orchestra - its not good when you need to do a complicated strings only piece - then you'll
    have all the load on 1 machine.

    I do see the protection problem as several keys coud be misused - but how
    about at least one extra? Or alternatively a networking license key with some constraints?

    Just had an idea to a network key license:
    Constrain the license to machines on the same submask of the IP.
    Could'nt that work?
