  • Bassoon staccato 1&2 problem

    I noticed on bassoon staccato 1&2 that though I have alternation tool working o.k., with the 1:2 clearly switching, and the dimension start and key switch out of playing range, etc. - there is no alternation of samples. I know the bassoon is very consistent but I'm sure it is only one sample set. I reloaded the instrument and performance file, but get the same result.

  • I guess I am going to split the track and use the two instruments separately, because there is definitely only one instrument playing. I wonder if anyone else has listened closely to the staccato alternation on bassoon in isolation. Could there be a problem with the programming on this instrument? I sure can't see anything wrong with the setup here, which works fine on all the other alternating instruments.

  • Hi William,

    I've just looked at it.
    Generally the bassonns staccatos sounds very similiar.
    But for the loudest velocity you were right, there is only one ff patch.
    It seems, that the 2nd ff stac folder is missing.

    I've programmed an alternation variation using semitone transposed samples for the ff velocity in the 1+2 stac patch.
    It works quite well.
    If you like it, I can also programm it for all velocities.

    At the moment I don't have access to our upolad server,
    I'll post this art file ASAP.

    best wishes

  • Thanks a lot, Herb.

  • Another strange thing I just noticed in trying to split a track to check out the alternation - staccato 1 is transposed up an octave and missing its upper range compared to staccato 2 in all layers. I never noticed this before because I always tried to use the combination instrument.

  • William, here is the art file, for alternating the ff layer.
    If it works for you, and you want the same option for the other velocities,
    let me know.
