  • Great sounding Pad tip

I am now the proud owner of the first edition orchestral cube. Wow!! [[:|]] Very impressed. Been playing around and find that a great pad sound can be made using the Trombone ensemble instrument - PO-3_nA-sus_p-mf_2lay, and keeping the modulation controller at 0.
By playing chords you can achieve a great orchestra sound, ideal for situations when you computer is choking on too many instruments.

Apologies if this post seems naive and obvious, but i hope that this tip can be of some help to someone

  • Thanks for sharing your idea!

  • Thanks for this Rok.

Further to this idea....any progress on setting up a <Files Area> on the VSL website? Then folks like Rok could simply upload instrument mods for all members to share.

    Regards - Colin

  • good idea to share your discoveries, Rok (with 240 Gig of sounds in the Pro Edition it's quite possible to overlook a few patches here and there [[;)]] )

But better yet: instead of the 2 layer version, take PO-3_nA_sus_p-ff_4Lay instead. It's 32MB as well, gives you the same 'pad sound' but also, with a quick flick on the Mod Wheel, gives you great brass rips, i.e. p-ff.

  • Thanks guys for the terrific tip. The library is so big it is easy to walk over this kind of stuff.
