  • Opus 1 Sideliscense....now what?

I just purchased the Side Liscense for Opus1....and I downloaded the 8mb installer. Trying to load an instrument into Kontakt 2, it told me it's missing every *.wav of the sample. Am I missing something? Does VSL send me the k2 version of the DVD's?

Also, the update *.exe for K2 Opus1 takes you to the front page in German instead of downloading the file.

    Thanks!
    Steve

    **EDIT**

Nevermind all that [:)]. I was told that I could just extract the *.wav files and K2 would find them for me. Thanks for help!

  • You need to backtrack a little. Firstly which version of the sounds did you install, Giga or EXS? It should be the latter. Secondly you have to re-build the database when you change something in K2. I can't remember what the correct terminology is in K2, as I fired that buggy thing months ago!!! However, I'm sure that one of the fans on this forum can answer that for you [:D]

    Hi Steve,

this problem is now fixed. You can download now the file.

  • Thanks for letting me know, Borsti. [:)]

DG, I have the Giga samples installed, but then when I tried to install the *.wav EXS samples, it made about 20-30 folders in German (and this was just for the "Violins"), and Kontakt 2 said that it assumed the *.wav files would be in the same folder as the Kontakt 2 *.nki samples, which means I would have to go into each folder and copy paste the files into the sample directory, or spend time browsing for the wave files every time I load a new sample. I basically paid the extra $88 for the side liscense so I could avoid taking hours and hours worth making 25 extra GBs of *.wav files to use Opus 1, not so I could make even more work for myself for the same exact product [:P].

    Any other suggestions?

I will try rebuilding the database and see if that fixes anything, but I can't imagine it will. Thanks!

    Steve

  • K2 uses EXS files, not Giga.

  • Actually, Kontakt 2 CAN use Giga files. It's what I was working with before, except the performance legato did not work.

Of course it can, but I was just trying to help you find the most hassle free way of installing the K2 version with the related scripts. I won't bother to help again [8-)]

omega, are you extracting the files using UnRarX - various stuffit versins will produce just c**p.
i don't understand the term *german folders* - are they named with german terms for instruments or something else?

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Christian,

The folder names were German...at least I think. Nothing wrong with the *.wavs or anything. Sorry for the confusion [:P]. At any rate, I finally figured it out. Thanks for the help!
