    I´m on 10.4.6, Logic 7.2.2 on a Mac G5DP2. I work in DTDM with ProTool HD2accel hardware. Everything (Sony desk, reverbs, etc.) here is synced with WC at 44,1 KHz.

    A lot of times with the VI´s the audio just turns totally bozo. Like a soundfile playing with the wrong digital sync.

    This happened in an almost empty song containing 4 VI´s and nothing else.

    Sometimes I can work for a couple of hours, but then I just switch to a different track, and it comes again. Often it gets so bad, that I cannot get anything done.

    Its driving me nuts.

    Any ideas anybody?

    Hi Josch,

    No, you're not alone. If you look at http://community.vsl.co.at/viewtopic.php?t=9059&iframe=true you'll see a thread all about problems on PPC Macs. I've been told that VSL are working on the problem and doing tests this week. Let's all hope they get it sorted - but I'm sure they're doing everything they can.

    I really hope they do because now I´m only working with the old EXS´sses.

    Can it have something to do with the fact that I have an S-ATA card for a raid on my pci bus?

    I recall that a couple of years ago Protools played dead every 30 minutes because I had an additional video card on the pci.

    Well, I tried to access you file and I had a password box given to me ? [:P]

    VI works fine on my PPC (Quad 2.5 Ghz) with logic 7.2.3 but not having heard the problem I can't really say a whole lot about it.

    Here's a thing though . try running your system on the Core audio, (built in) driver just to see if it makes any difference.

    Yes, I've heard that the problems don't occur or aren't as bad on more recent G5s. But as the thread I posted shows, an awful lot of people on PPC Macs are suffering from this. The VSL people do know about it and are doing everything they can to find a solution.

    Hi all,

    to be a bit more clear: I´m not speaking of clicks and pops.
    Its about playing 2 instances of the VI on a G5DP2 and loading a third.
    Then all of the sudden every audio on the Mac is hardly recognisable.

    Ok, got it:

    Its a known issue with the Digidesign Stream Manager.

    When it reaches 80 % it gets instable and distorts all DTDM audio.
