  • Plogue Question Again...

    I have two Macs.

One Mac has PB on it. PB sees my virtual instrument and my M Audio 1814 firewire interface. I draw a line from the interface icon to my virtual instrument, and then to an OUTPUT object of my Firewire interface and all is well.

What I can't figure out is, how do I add ANOTHER virtual instrument to this setup? PB will only let me draw one line coming from my MIDI INPUT (Fireface) to the first virtual instrument. How do I get another VI and "line" or "cable" to the second, or third, etc, instrument? Also, I would need the first VI to receive on one midi channel, and the second to receive on another, etc. I am not trying to "stack" the VIs.

    Lost here....thanks..

  • Add a "midi splitter" bidule between additional instruments and mixer.

But then how does each VI receive on a different MIDI channel???

  • If "Bidule 1" is connected to a midi splitter with 16 connections showing underneath it (the splitter that is) than each of those 16 connections represents a midi channel. You drag a connection from each of the 16 little squares to each instance of VI.

Your sequencing program should show Bidule 1 having having 16 channels. Same with Bidule 2 (1-16) Bidule 3 (1-16) and so on depending on how many Bidule midi devices you open.

  • Got it...it works! Thanks so much!

(Now if I could get VSL to stop crackling here and there....hmmm)

  • Check you buffer settings in Plogue. Try 512.
