  • WARNING: Don't install latest Syncrosoft LCC update

Just a friendly warning to you all not to install Syncrosoft's latest software. You'll find that Vienna Instruments will not load and your system will crash (in Standalone mode and in Logic). The worst part is that there is no way to revert to any older version of the LCC software. The install blocks you even if you remove all the LLC files. I had to reinstall my computer and then install the old version of LCC that came with the Vienna disk and now everythign works fine.

Hope this helps all of you out there from going through what I just went through.

    Cheers,

    J

  • johan thanks for sharing your experience, although you should add, that this was your finding on your system.
unfortunately you didn't give us some specs (version and update status of your operating system, version of logic, installed applications, connected devices, former version of license control center, version of ViennaInstruments software, ect) to allow some investigation if this effect would be reproducable.
i personally would be interested in how the install blocks (errormessage, sequence of uninstalling/installing?) - please keep in mind that unix-like systems keep running processes in RAM even if you have physically deleted them from your harddrive ...

  • Johan,

I just installed the new Syncrosoft version 5.0.3.3 for Mac OSX (I have 10.4.7). Knowing about all the problems folks have had, I first opened Licence Control Center (LCC) and all of my VSL licences appeared to have gone. [[:|]]
I disconnected the key, rebooted LCC and all the licences were back again.

VI Standalone opened just fine (7 mins as before....) and the VI AU opened in Logic (7.2.1)
All is working fine - no noticable change from the new LCC version.

    Regards - Colin
